What is the difference between a ventilation duct and a smoke exhaust duct?

When the ventilation ducts are installed in many places, they have encountered many problems. Especially after the installation, many property safety supervisors are not clear about the usefulness of the ducts, especially the ventilation ducts and the smoke exhaust ducts are always confused. Let's talk about ventilation. How to distinguish between pipes and exhaust pipes:

A ventilation duct is a duct dedicated to supply and exhaust air to one or several rooms or equipment. The exhaust pipe is a pipe specially designed to exhaust the flue gas together. There are differences in terms of use, and the pipes themselves are all pipes. The installed air duct should ensure that the surface is smooth and clean, and the outdoor air duct should be protected from rain and snow. When the air duct extends into the structural air duct, the steel mesh should be installed at the end to prevent the sundries from entering the metal air duct when the system is running. The gap between the metal air duct and the structural air duct should be tightly sealed. When the air duct passes through the settlement joint, a casing should be added according to the design requirements, and the gap between the casing and the air duct should be tightly sealed with packing (soft material). From these characteristics, we should be able to quickly distinguish the difference between the two.

Although they are often made of galvanized iron sheets, the exhaust air ducts require high temperature resistance and higher requirements for fire protection; in architectural design, the thickness of the galvanized iron sheets of the exhaust air ducts is selected according to the high pressure standard, and the general ventilation system is based on medium and low pressure. The system is selected; if it is not the air duct of the air-conditioning system, the general ventilation duct does not need to be insulated, and if the exhaust air duct is installed indoors, it generally needs to be insulated.

As far as pipes are concerned, they are all pipes, but in terms of names and functions, you can see the difference. Ventilation plays the role of ventilation to keep the indoor air unobstructed, so the ventilation duct is the duct that supplies and exhausts air to the room or equipment. The exhaust pipe is a pipe specially designed for flue gas discharge.
